At least four new wolf pups have been documented in Lessinia in recent days. This discovery is the result of monitoring efforts conducted by our volunteers, which intensified in recent days following the culling of an adult male wolf by the Province of Trento. This effort was aimed at assessing the potential consequences of this operation on the pups' survival.

In this regard, our organization today sent an official communication to the Province of Trento, the Veneto Region and ISPRA, reporting the presence of the cubs, most likely belonging to the pack of the shot specimen, which gravitates both in Veneto and Trentino, and making itself available for further information.

In the summer of 2025, just ended, the Lessinia nucleus consisted of three adult wolves plus the newborns.
The birth of puppies therefore represents a crucial factor, which management choices cannot ignore.

The data collected in the field also suggest a significant overall decline in the wolf population in the Lessinia plateau area, including the disappearance of the "historic" pack, for which there is no evidence whatsoever even in 2025.
