A two-day immersive learning experience, open to all, designed to provide a practical, accessible, and engaging introduction to the world of large Alpine carnivores and the challenges of coexisting with human activities.
The course requires no prerequisites and is aimed at anyone wishing to explore these topics in depth with a rigorous yet clear approach. Through a combination of theory and practice, participants will be guided through the discovery of three iconic Alpine species: wolf, bear, and lynx. For each species, key aspects related to biology, behavior, ecological role, land use, and human interaction dynamics will be addressed in an up-to-date and understandable manner, with particular attention to the Alpine context.
The core of the experience will be a day in the field, dedicated to interpreting signs of their presence: tracks, signs, markings, and other clues. We will learn to read the landscape, identify ecological corridors, and understand how these animals move and interact with the environment and human activities.
The course will conclude with a discussion on ethics, conservation, and responsibility, aiming to provide not only knowledge but also practical tools and a more informed perspective.
Two days to truly delve into the world of large carnivores, learning to observe, interpret, and communicate about them correctly, actively contributing to a more informed coexistence.
