On Friday 20 June at 20:30 pm, the conference room of the Caritro Foundation in Trento will host the event Large Carnivores in Trentino – 2025, an information evening to learn the updated data on the presence of large carnivores in the Autonomous Province of Trento and to delve into the issues related to coexistence with bears and wolves.
The event, organized by the Association for WWF Trentino and I'm not afraid of the wolf in collaboration with the SAT Società Alpinisti Tridentini, is open to all those interested in the topic: it will also be an opportunity for journalists, associations, technicians and other stakeholders to learn about the numbers, impacts, interventions implemented and dynamics of the populations of these animals in the area, as well as to discuss together the issues related to large carnivores.
“This is an evening open to everyone, which is why we extend our invitation to the political and institutional world of Trentino right now so that they can be present not only to learn the actual data on the phenomenon, but also to listen to the point of view of those who, in addition to the PAT, have been working for years for coexistence with these animals” these are the words of Aaron Iemma, President of WWF Trentino.
“For too long fear has been the main ingredient that guides communication on the topic of large carnivores in Trentino, and the results are there for all to see: oversized fears that affect communities, paralyzing discussion and making conflicts increasingly marked: an attitude that today is completely counterproductive, and does not solve the real problems that afflict mountain communities. On this point we will all need to work together, and for this reason the invitation is open to all journalists and other stakeholders.”
