I Will Dare – Sunset hike to the top of Mount Osero on the trail of wolves.
Cappelletta Pass, Farini,
Piacenza
⛰️About 10km
🎢 approximately 400 meters
⏳️ 4 hours excluding stops
💰 €15
A loop along off-trail trails to discover the Cogno San Bassano area and its ancient history. During site inspections to identify ancient trails and connections between the various highlights of this hike, and during maintenance work, I found numerous traces of the wildlife that inhabits this mountain, particularly wolves: numerous compatible tracks and footprints, and the thrilling howls that echoed one evening just as I was getting in the car to head home.
For this reason, during the excursion, which will be accompanied by the words of Matteo Righetto's latest book, "The Call of the Mountain," we will talk about wolves, their ethology, how to move respectfully in the natural environment, and also how this animal has been depicted in myths, fables, literature, and art, thanks to the valuable in-depth study curated by Michel Pastoureau.
