For the 2025/2026 school year, the "I'm Not Afraid of the Wolf" Association is also offering "Getting to Know the Wolf at School," an educational program for children in third, fourth, and fifth grades of primary schools and middle and high schools. The program will use a scientifically sound approach to guide them through their exploration of the wolf, now present everywhere in our country, and the best practices for coexisting with it.
The educational program consists of a classroom session, free of charge to the school and/or families, in which, through a highly dynamic narrative combined with the screening of videos and images collected in the field by the Association, we address issues related to the ethology of the species (social organization, territoriality, diet, life cycle, etc.), the reasons for its increasingly frequent presence, even near populated areas, and the management of potential encounters/conflicts with humans. "We believe," states Daniele Ecotti, president of the Association, "that it is essential, especially in this historical moment of profound media misinformation about large predators, to offer children and young people a solid cultural foundation: knowledge and good practices are the necessary ingredients for coexisting and relating to this important species."Schools and teachers can request the event free of charge for the 2025/2026 school year.
