Two days dedicated to children, designed to introduce them to nature with clear and reliable information, stimulating their curiosity and respect for the environment through observation and understanding.
The camp will focus on learning about the wolf (Canis lupus) and will combine an educational component, tailored for children, with a series of hands-on activities within the Reserve. We will open with a presentation featuring images and videos to explain the wolf's biological and ethological characteristics: its structure, how it lives, how it moves across the landscape, what it eats, how it communicates, and its typical behaviors. The scientifically rigorous content will be presented in engaging language suitable for children, but without misleading simplifications.
Next, we'll move on to fieldwork. Here, the forest will become our "book": during our outings, we'll search for tracks and signs of wildlife and interpret them through guided exploration, learning to recognize tracks, footprints, and signs of animal passage. One of the most enjoyable moments will certainly be the cast workshop, where each child will create plaster casts from the footprints they find, which they can take home as a memento of the experience, along with everything else they've learned.
Using the powerful telescopes we'll provide, we'll try to observe the reserve's wild animals from the right distance. Each day, we'll hike for approximately 5–6 km in the high hills, on well-marked trails, at a pace suitable for children and with frequent breaks. Walks, workshops, games, and plenty of exploration will provide a complete, tactile, and fun experience, allowing children to experience the wolf firsthand and literally touch the forest with their own hands, developing their curiosity and method.
