In recent years Daniel has led animals to pasture in the mountains of Trentino, through peaks and valleys that have been inhabited by wolves and bears for some time, sometimes in very challenging high-altitude contexts.
He recently began to train and raise his flock and wanted to tell us about his experience accompanied by his magnificent Shepherds of the Sila, faithful guardian dogs from southern Italy. A story that invites dialogue and collaboration between all the parties involved in the difficult puzzle of coexistence between humans and large carnivores.
For this we thank him particularly, but above all we take the opportunity to reiterate once again how coexistence with large predators in the area is something to be built over time, which requires many sacrifices, but which can allow everyone to do their job with safety and respect for the surrounding environment.
During this journey, carried out within the project "The Coexistence Fund - The coexistence fund" we also met other breeders and during the next few weeks we will tell you their stories, all united by a great passion for a job that, from our point of view, it is even more beautiful when it is carried out in harmony with all the elements of the ecosystem.
