Tuesday 14 July 2020

Now in its second edition, Stories of wolves and shepherds in Lessinia returns to the meadows and woods of Lessinia to be the bearer of small stories related to sheep farming, man, and the wildlife that inhabits these territories, in order to unite, make known by creating culture and tell what happens here, among the pastures of the plateau.

For this second edition, to which, albeit with the right distances and precautions we have chosen not to give up, we have decided to tackle a theme that has ignited the hearts of many in the last year: the Park and its protection, creating an opportunity for discussion open to all and which does not only concern the safeguarding of the area, but also its correct use in respect of those who live in these territories, be they humans or animals.
Furthermore, in the light of what has been happening in recent years, where more and more tourists without any regulation experience the territory with an increasingly "hit and run" approach, we want to emphasize how important it can be to educate and inform those who visit the area on the right approach to have within the protected area.

The event will also see the inauguration of the exhibition "Wild: 365 days of fauna in Lessinia" an open-air photographic exhibition with a selection of naturalist photographers who will tell, through their lens, those who are the inhabitants of the woods of Lessinia through the seasons that make up an entire year and that characterize, each with its colors and its shades, what is the seasonality of the territory and the fauna that makes it alive.
The exhibition will remain outdoors for the entire month of August and will be available for free in the pastures of Malga Derocchetto that will host it for the first time in a real natural environment where the prints appropriately made will have the surrounding natural environment as the only frame, in order not only to return an image relevant to the represented species, but also in order to give the visitor experience as immersive as possible.

The event will be reachable on foot starting from the village of Erbezzo, in a collective journey that will also be an opportunity to limit the car impact within the Park area and to dialogue all together on issues related to the territory.
Furthermore, at the end of the event there will be the opportunity to listen to some readings related to the history of Lessinia, to the animals and men who have inhabited this territory over the centuries by the actress and narrator Margherita Sciarrettto tasting typical products of Malga della Lessinia.
