Pratomollo Refuge - Borzonasca (Genoa)
First didactic field on the wolf in the Aveto natural park among the highest peaks of the Ligurian and Emilian Apennines overlooking the sea.
Both through an interesting and in-depth didactic part, rich in images and videos to deepen the biology and ethology of wolves, and through excursions and ambushes, we will learn to move silently, to lurk and recognize and interpret the signs of the presence of fauna as well as deepen the different monitoring techniques. We will be hosted by the Pratomollo refuge at 1500 meters above sea level.
Program
Meeting at 14.00 pm at the Pratomollo refuge.
Didactic on wolf to follow short excursion with positioning photo-video trap and stalking at sunset for faunal observations.
Saturday 12
Appointment at dawn for wildlife observations (optional) - Breakfast
Ring excursion in the park territory in search of signs of presence and video control of traps.
Meeting with Dr. Luigi Molinari of the Wolf Apennine Center
Sunday 13th of
Ring excursion in the territory of the Park, control and collection of the photo-video trap placed on Friday.
return to the refuge for 17.00 pm and closing of activities

Cost
Costs to be transferred to Rifugio Pratomollo: € 120,00
which include dinner and overnight stay on Friday, breakfast - packed lunch - dinner and overnight stay on Saturday, breakfast - packed lunch on Sunday.
(meals do not include drink costs)
What to bring
Trekking clothing suitable for the period in layers to better adapt to the different temperatures, we recommend bringing additional coverage to wear when we stand still for direct observations. Trekking boots better if waterproof, windbreaker and rain jacket, hat, sweater or fleece, 1 l minimum water bottle, material for taking notes, binoculars, torch (preferably front), towels.
Difficulty level: E (hiking)
Average distances: 10 km excursions with 300/400 meters in altitude
Pets are not allowed.
