Coexistence Festival edition 2: in Val di Ledro we talk about man and nature

Friday 23 June 2023

Three days to explore the important theme of the relationship between man and fauna among excursions, scientific cafés, debates, cinema, theater and much more, to understand the challenges, critical issues, opportunities and strategies to make it possible today. 2023, yes repeats… in Val di Ledro! This is the beautiful setting that between 1 and 3 September 2023 will host the second edition of the Coexistence Festival. An exceptional scenario that among lakes, wild mountains, history and a fabulous welcome will welcome the many guests and the public interested in participating in a dialogue of primary importance today on this territory: what does it mean to share spaces and resources with fauna? What strategies, what limits, what needs and what critical issues does this important concept contain?

It will be discussed in the company of over 30 illustrious guests who together, each with their own point of view, will try to convey, at least in part, the complexity of the concept of coexistence. Representatives will be present of local institutions, of the National Parks of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise and of the Stelvio Park, of the Adamello Brenta Park, of the hunting world and of the world of breeders, representatives of the University but also journalists, artists, authors, photographers and many others . In the wonderful natural scenery of Malga Cita – made available by the Alpine Group of Molina di Ledro, in the artistic heart of LedroLandArt, the Pile Dwelling Museum of Ledro and the Rifugio al Faggio restaurant, Coexistence Festival provides three days to explore by walking, listening, debating, watching and doing, the different sides of coexistence, the effects, consequences and strategies implemented or possible to be able to think about it in a realistic way. The intent of the Festival, sponsored by the Municipality of Ledro and supported by many partners, is to promote discussion and information on the topic of coexistence that has put the Trentino area to the test this year, imposing the need to promote dialogue and information as a necessary step for identifying new solutions and as an essential civil tool to provide everyone with the tools necessary to deal with the situation in an informed and aware manner. 'The idea is to try to provide information and points of view in order to give the most balanced and complete picture possible' explains Anna Sustersic President of PAMS Foundation that together with the Io non ho fear of the wolf association and CAI large carnivores group are the promoters of the Festival 'we would like to help give the public ideas and tools to build their own point of view on the urgent issue of coexistence between man and fauna' . Coexistence Festival is an initiative that also has the will to promote the territory and its peculiarities: every part of Trentino, in fact, deals with the theme of coexistence between man and fauna with particular traits and with needs and priorities that vary from area to area. Each valley and each territory is also the bearer of experiences and peculiarities that the festival wants to enhance and promote.
'This year the venues that will host the Festival in Val di Ledro are truly special' explains Francesco Romito vice president of the Association I'm not afraid of the wolf 'and we are really proud to be able to share such important topics with the public and guests in such exceptional contexts'. A particularly interesting aspect of this edition, the organizers explain, is that many of the themes arise from the feedback that the public gave to the first edition. Many of the topics covered will be a response to the cognitive needs arising from a survey carried out at the end of the first edition of the Festival, in this way the event 'grows' with its audience and adapts to its needs.
'At a time when the issue is so topical' explains the Mayor of Ledro Renato Girardi 'we think that such an initiative that promotes dialogue, exchange and listening to many different points of view is a step in the right direction to restore dialogue within the community and succeed with it in find in the debate a way towards a shared solution with those who live in the area.' The site with the program of the new edition of the Coexistence Festival , will be published on July 14 For any information relating to the Festival, the program and logistics:
