The association I'm not afraid of the wolf launches two informative and educational events: "Knowing the wolf" and "Knowing the wolf school".
Know the wolf is aimed at administrations, associations, local committees, but also at all citizens who request it to respond to the increasingly frequent requests relating to the presence of the wolf in the area, thus creating an informative event useful for responding in a balanced manner and without favoritism to all the absolutely legitimate frequently asked questions regarding the presence of the wolf. The event is structured with the aim of making known how the predator lives and behaves, how it has returned to colonize our country, analyzing the problems that it can generate and making people understand the correct practices to adopt for peaceful coexistence. During the event, the handbook "Knowing the wolf" will also be distributed free of charge. a 40-page booklet created with the aim of describing the wolf in our country in a simple way, stimulating coexistence with it and giving useful information to better understand this "new" presence. The event, lasting approximately 90 minutes, with more space for questions from the public, is organized by the Association I am not afraid of the wolf within the limits of the availability of allocated funds and staff.
For the event it will be necessary to provide a room/location equipped with a projection system for connection to our laptop; possible presence of an audio amplification system; if necessary two microphones with amplification. The handbook will be distributed based on the availability of copies; the dates are to be agreed based on the availability of the operators and the logistics of the event. Events must have free admission.
Get to know the wolf school
The proposal is structured in a classroom meeting, without any cost to the school and/or families, which is divided into a frontal lesson, lasting about 90 minutes, during which a powerpoint presentation will be shown with unpublished videos and images, collected in the field by the Association, relating to the ethology of the species, the reasons for its presence even near anthropized areas and the management of possible situations of encounter/conflict with humans.
The narration will be carried out in a very dynamic way, involving students through questions and reflections on the various topics covered.
We will also dedicate a parenthesis to talk about some of the main natural prey of the wolf starting from the analysis of some finds that we will show to the students during the meeting.
At the end of the activity there will be a moment of sharing the experience just lived.
The meeting will conclude with the distribution of the paper vademecum “Knowing the wolf” and a final questionnaire, to collect the students' perceptions on this large carnivore.
